Original Penguin has existed since 1995 in New York. The brand was introduced by Munsingwear, which launched the golf shirt in the United States. Since then, the company has been recognized as the originator of the golf shirt.

The history of the brand ties in with a story of salesman Abbot Pederson. A salesman on a shopping trip for Munsingwear before departing home wanted to stop by a local bar for a few whiskey. Wandering around Manhattan looking for a bar, he found the store where he bought the penguin. He called him Pete. Pete has been appointed as flight mate. The salesman knocked his head off during the flight. The flight attendant, seeing the event, wrapped the seller's tie around the penguin's neck and joked that such an elegant bird deserved to be captured. This is how the idea for the brand logo appeared. Since then, the legendary Pete penguin has been visible on the clothing, haberdashery and accessories of Original Penguin. The brand, in addition to the innovative logo created in exceptional circumstances, combines the iconic American sportswear with a modern style.
